I made my first website in 1999, but started this incarnation during Christmas, 2025. Some of the pages are from my previous two websites and may be 20 years old. It's basic form and structure is now complete, but the process of refining, correcting and updating never ends...
I don't use web-authoring software. I just write it in simple text, using the Windows edit. Photos are my own, (except for some I scammed from Google Photo) or which I shamelessly ripped off the internet. Credit given if known. I kept the photos large 512 x 512pi; almost everyone has high-speed internet and high-res flat screens. The site has been designed to scale down to fit smartphones and Pads.
It makes extensive use of the style sheets, Java Scripts, and layout philosophy of the Bootstrap Project developed by several Twitter programmers to streamline their Web work. Extensive work has been done to make the site flexible and self modifying, so to work with smartphones and pads.
I use free Statcounter and Google Analytics for statistical information of my site traffic. This may give you a harmless cookie (if your browser allows cookies). Statcounter or Google Analytics may collect IP addresses, but I don't. You remain anonymous to me. Everything is remotely controlled from my computer or phone.
Computing and the internet is a hobby of mine. The photo shows the hardware my website (as well as other things) is running on. It resides on a rack in my apartment, and consists of the following, starting at the top.
The black box has two ASUS mini-ITX motherboards, each with an Intel i5 Core 12400F cpu. The motherboards both have a one terebyte Solidstate Drive (ssd), and 32gbs of ram.
The motherboard on left has Win11, with Plex and 32 TB of harddrive. It also remote controls a couple of radios on the next lower shelf.
The second motherboard runs Linux, with Apache HTML server, local firewall, DNS, etc. All controlled by Win11 Remote Desktop. I like how the Ubiquity products work so well together with remote control software.
